The relationship between cats and dogs… can be a little complicated, as is well-known in the world. The two are very, very different, and they can't quite understand each other's body languages. Of course, barriers like that are crossed every day, and cats and dogs become BFFs without us fully understanding how that is possible. But that ideal is not always reached. And if you put a cat and a dog together in one house… do not be surprised when shenanigans occur. 

Of course, sometimes, cats and dogs don't agree with each other's forms of chaos-creation, but sometimes… sometimes, cats and dogs work together. And these moments are meowgical. Unlike anything else. These are the stories that you will tell your children one day. Stories of how your cat and dog conspired - sometimes against each other and other times the two of them against you - and came up with some of the funniest evil plans that you have ever heard of.

    I've got a 6-year-old border collie named Milo and a 3-year-old tuxedo cat named Nori. They get along really well, maybe too well, because Milo has started developing this hilarious habit.

    Whenever Nori starts knocking things off the counter (which is daily, because she lives for chaos), Milo will come find me, sit in front of me, and just stare. He doesn't bark or whine, but it's the kind of intense "You need to come see this" stare that border collies are famous for.

  • It's the fact that he does not stop her that we love the most. Because he could. We're pretty sure he'd find a way to do that. But he waits… probably to see if the shenanigans can benefit him or not. Then, he goes and tattles. And we respect that.

    Aesthetic_donkey_573 We had a dog cat duo that did this at one point. Dogs treats were in Tupperware on top of the fridge. Cat climbed up on the fridge, knocked the treats down, dog chewed through the Tupperware and they feasted together.

    One Advantage793 We had to put our small dog's treats in a cabinet that latches because my cat used to give the dog treats - and that dog is a little chonk who needs to diet. They are besties, but I don't think it was an actual bribe - just another gravity experiment by said cat. He did take the treat (Bonez) out of the box and then bap it over the edge of the cabinet, then watch with great interest while his dog friend ate the treat, then do it again.

  • Maybe even cuter is to hear all the stories of cats and dogs working together to create chaos. Differences set aside, conflicts forgotten, when it's time to cause trouble, they come together like the little hooligans that they are and find a way to get to what it is that they want.

    jobob1288 That's hilarious. I adopted my female terrier mix 3 years ago and she became quick friends with one of my male cats. He's very ornery though and she's started getting onto him when she knows he's doing something he shouldn't. She prances and has a very particular "woof" for this instance haha.
